1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Vertano Agency (“Vertano”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on vertanoagency.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Vertano operates from the United Kingdom and serves clients worldwide. Because of that, this policy is written to comply with the most relevant frameworks for visitors regardless of where they are located.
2. Legal frameworks we follow
Depending on where you visit from, one or more of the following laws apply to how we use cookies and similar technologies:
- United Kingdom — UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Enforced by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
- European Economic Area — the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as implemented in each EU/EEA member state.
- Switzerland — the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP).
- Western Balkans — including Serbia (Personal Data Protection Act / ZZPL, “Sl. glasnik RS” 87/2018), Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo, whose laws closely mirror the GDPR.
- United States — sector- and state-level laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA, Virginia VCDPA, Colorado CPA, Connecticut CTDPA and others granting opt-out rights for “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and targeted advertising.
- Canada — PIPEDA and provincial equivalents (Quebec Law 25).
- Brazil — Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018).
- Other jurisdictions — Australia (Privacy Act 1988), South Africa (POPIA), UAE, Singapore (PDPA), Japan (APPI), South Korea (PIPA) and similar regimes.
Where these laws differ, we apply the more protective standard for our visitors.
3. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are commonly used to make websites work efficiently, to remember preferences and to provide reporting information. “Similar technologies” include local storage, session storage, pixels and SDKs that perform an equivalent function.
4. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function correctly — for example, remembering your cookie preferences and basic security. These cannot be switched off in our system and do not require consent under UK/EU rules.

Used to deliver personalised advertising and measure campaign performance. We currently do not run paid advertising on this site; this category is reserved for future use and will only be activated with your explicit consent.
5. Your choices & how to opt out
When you first visit the site you are shown a banner where you can Accept all, Reject all or Customise your preferences. You can change your decision at any time:
- Use the “Change cookie settings” button below to re-open the banner.
- Clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
- For California residents: this acts as your “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” request for purposes of CPRA.
- For EEA/UK/Swiss residents: you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. International data transfers
Some of our analytics providers (e.g. Google) may transfer data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US / UK-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, the right to object or opt out of certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country (for example, the UK ICO at ico.org.uk, or the Serbian Commissioner at poverenik.rs).
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted in the banner.
